What's the switch?

The titles I give these posts are such throwaway nonsense.
Anyways, before I get into the games, I ordered some shit from Frys.com last night, 2 500 GB hard drives and a new iPod. Sadly the order was cancelled this morning due to address issues. Dammit. I'll have to buy 'em in the store.

Anyways, haven't posted recently. Beat 3 more games.

Gun: (PS2) So it's short. 8-10 hours. Not bad for the $10 I paid. It's not REALLY a Western GTA because there's no branching stories. Heck, you can eschew the whole travelling to begin missions and just select it from the pause screen. But the gameplay is fun. I enjoyed pretty much everything about it, especially considering Neversoft sticking to extreme sports for so long up to this point. Violence was very much involved. Certain scenes really seemed deep for a game. The only thing I would have liked is to have had more. Bigger world, more missions, more to do. I hear the PSP version adds more, but it's a bit late for that.
Luxor: (PSP) Yes? I wanted a puzzle game to kill time on the toilet. I cleared easy mode. 20 stages each between 5-7 levels. At first I feared it would suck because the shooter is fixed horizontally, unlike the other clones, but it worked out. You felt a need to get points in the game. The special effects really made it worth it. The sounds, explosions, power-ups all made for some fun time. I don't like how long it took, though. I felt it should have been shorter for story mode. I'm also disappointed with the level recycling. I don't know what Mumbo Jumbo was thinking, but the last 5 levels were the best. I wish I had seen more of them rather than playing "Eye of Ra" 10 times over. The best, most hectic, levels were the ones with dual lines. Managing both leads was really tough. You had to balance which side you cleared. So I enjoyed it and I'll go back from time to time to play it.
Kim Possible: What's the Switch: (PS2) Yup. I beat my third Kim Possible game. (Previously: Team Impossible on the GBA and Kimmunicator on the DS) This time the production was stepped up a notch. The graphics were noticably better and they had the same voice actors as from the show. The gameplay remains unchanged, (A GOOD THING) for the most part, except for the absence of the handspring jump. The basic 2D platforming is still just as well-designed. I wish combat would step up in complexity, but I have to remember the crowd it appeals to. The acrobatic aspect of the game is what makes it. The last level especially brings it home as you are wall-jumping and swinging all over. The only issues I had with the game was the appearance of Kim and Dr. Drakken's 3D models. Everyone looked ok, but those two had issues when close-up in cutscenes. Thankfully in-game that's not a problem. There's also "Special Missions" to unlock in the game. I found 4 of the 5. Clearing them didn't seem to unlock anything, but some of them are REALLY hard and test your skills. (This coming from a guy who cleared both God of Wars) I got it for about $16 on clearance and don't feel ripped off. But a large part of enjoying the game comes from appreciating the series.

So now I've covered what I've beaten. Lately I've been sinking more time into Puzzle Quest on the PSP and more of Burnout: Dominator... on the PSP. I loaded Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction back into the PS3, so I'll finish that up.

Side note: I finally setup a Japanese and Hong Kong PS3 account to get access to their stores. Oh. My. God. I want Hot Shots Golf 5 NOW. The demo isn't enough!

Currently reserved titles:
Spider-Man 3: Special Edition (PS3)
Pokemon Pearl (DS)
God of War: Island of Rhodes (PSP)

I think that's it. No big Wii titles outside of Super Mario Galaxy. I'll probably plunk down some cash for that and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots soon. As for Devil May Cry 4 I'll have to wait. I'm struggling to play the first game. Maybe it's just the first fight with your brother, but I hate games that have lives, repeating the same bullshit over because you ran out of an arbitrary number of lives.
