Demos

Played through demos recently. Stranglehold (PS3, PC): Fun. A little repetitive. DEFINITELY better with a mouse. Plan to get PC version for cheap later. Call of Juarez (PC): Fucking beautiful. Had a blast until I got to the stealth part where I steal a saddle. Will wait to hear about other shit about it. Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (PS3): Better than THP8. An acceptable improvement with nice mentions to past games like THUG1. It's just a progressive update, but that's all I expected and wanted. A few nigglings that I expect to get fixed before launch. All Pro Football 2k8 (PS3): Football isn't my bag, but I enjoyed it Madden 2008 (PS3): Barf Death to Spies (PC): Frustratingly stupid. Pretty, but requires too much patience. Quake 4 (PC): Fun. Demo's WAY too short. Looks a lot like Doom 3, but that's not a big deal. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. I still need to finish up Far Cry and a few others.

Half-Life is a Half-Game

Just finally beat Half-Life 2 . Bought it launch day. Played to the driving mission along the coast and stopped because my old computer couldn't handle it. Finally bothered to finish it up today and I am disappointed. It reminded me why I stopped playing. The enemies have too much health. You never have enough of the ammo you want. The squad commanding was nearly useless. The ending was the worst of ANY GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED and just was egging you on to buy the next instalmment. But it does look nice and the story unfolds well. But the gameplay just isn't up to par with the rest of it. After playing Bioshock and loving every god damn minute of it, Half-Life 2 just can't hold up. Hopefully future episodes redeem it. Oh, and as for Bioshock . One of the best titles I have ever played. Cinematic masterpiece. Everything is beautiful and polished. The story, graphics, audio, gameplay, enemies, everything. EVERYTHING IS PERFECT. Next up is to finish: Farcry Sin Episodes Nigh...
