I tried setting up a blog for E3. It doesn't seem like too many people have signed up, but that will change in the next couple months. Otherwise I took one final, have two projects to finish and 3 finals in a row on Wednesday and the final final on thursday. I need to stop stressing out about it because it doesn't help. What happens happens and I can always take it over during the summer. (Aside from CS280)
Whatever, I just want to play some games this week, namely Pokemon Colosseum, Beyond Good & Evil and Shenmue. Yes, I rehooked up my black Dreamcast because it just made sense to. It's nice to play Rush 2049 and Space Channel 5 again. The Dreamcast never should have went out. Damn PS2, Xbox and their dependence on hype. Don't get me started on it, people are going apeshit over Halo 2 when they release 1 1600x1200 screenshot at a time, especially when there's no UI, it's not at a resoltuon it'll be and SURELY not indicative of how fun the game is. People need to look beyond graphics and realize there's more to games than shiny junk and whatever. I'd rather see people focus on framerate, loading times and streamlining games. Dead To Rights is a good example. While the game isn't the best game I've played, it's definetely the most fun I've had in a long while. While there is locking on, it is still a difficult and fun title. A bit over-the-top and lacking in realism (In one scene you drive your motorcycle off a cliff toward the open end of a cargo plane and then shoot the two motorcycles chasing you to make them explode and propel you into the plane.) it was still a blast to play with the variety and concentration on the core gameplay. The graphics were acceptable, sure I saw some flickering triangles from explosion decals and your dog doesn't appear on the screen until you attack with him, but in the end, it's the same game regardless of that and there's nothing akin to leaping into a room in slow-motion, siccing your dog on the closest guy, using handguns akimbo to take out the second guy, rolling on the ground, grabbing another man as a human shield, using your free hand with a shotgun to clear out the room then pushing your shield to the ground and using a point blank shotgun blast to the back of his skull all within about 15 seconds.

Okay, so maybe it IS one of the best games I've played recently. :) I still have to play through Twin Snakes and Splinter Cell, but my lord, I definetly prefer action games. That reminds me, I should pick up Max Payne 2 for my birthday in October.
